2020 My interpretation of album covers and posters for Ryuichi Sakamoto’s INCOMPLETE series. This project turned out to be an affirmation of method design. When designing for something as emotionally powerful yet intangible as music, it felt inauthentic to create in any other way. To just listen and explore the possibilities within limitations: colour, technique and song duration. I gave myself the simple task to use red for intensity, blue for melancholy and let the form create dynamism and energy.  Each one of the abstract shapes are interlinked with the song they accompany, and are used to create a cohesive collection of Sakamoto’s musical works.
